  • Mercury mixtures are found in some dental fillings
  • Mercury compounds are found in paints, fungicides, medicines and cosmetics.

Mercury vapors which the person breathes with the air accumulate in the lungs. If the concentration of mercury in the air is high it is also absorbed by skin. Depending on the amount of mercury and the duration of its contact with the human body, acute or chronic poisoning may occur.

This diagnosis is established in a few hours after the poisoning.

Symptoms: weakness, loss of appetite, headache, pain when swallowing, a metallic taste in the mouth, excessive salivation, swelling and bleeding gums, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain. The body temperature rises to 38-40 ° C. In severe cases, the death of the victim comes a few days later.
